What is the tradition of parenting? Is it raising a child with a mother and a father? And what about families consisting of single mothers or single fathers and their children? What about families in which the husband has got a lot of wives and a dozen of kids? What about parents who are very young, sometimes young enough to be children themselves? What about elderly people who late in their lives happened to become parents again, frequently being grandparents at the same time? What about gay couples? The variety of the world teaches us that there is not one lifestyle which is the right lifestyle. We are different, varied and complex. While some don't want to have kids at all, some want to have them in the loving relationships they built with people of the same sex. Very often they are better parents than standard parents. Very often they still suffer from discrimination and fear. Very often the kids of these parents feel rejected and bullied. Taking into account the recent and violent hate of some religious extremists, we should love, tolerate and educate even more. Gayby Baby.
