We all have mothers. It unites us. Distant mothers, mothers who died when we were little, overprotective mothers, mothers toxic, demanding, and neglectful. Some of them shaped us, motivated and instilled values and courage. Others destroyed our relationships, family bonds, and made us give up our friends. Some mothers were for us a difficult example to follow and a role model for whom we weren't good enough. Some mothers were for us a shame due to their failing personal lives, disease, behavior, appearance. But without them, we wouldn't be who we are today. We simply wouldn't be. But to have a mother who is so blindly besotted with her child's success to the extent that it actually comes true happens once in a lifetime. Two acting talents of their epoch, two lives of connected human beings, one goal. And one hilariously good story about one extraordinary mother and how she pushed her son to success. Promise at Dawn, enjoy.
Imagine that there is a stranger, walking unexpectedly into your life, opening old wounds but also helping them to heal. Imagine that your heart can once again find a purpose after a tragic loss and there is a feeling budding like a flower, growing on the water of your blood, willing to stay afloat. Imagine times in silence after a huge storm of pain, loss, and rain of weapons, decimating your friends, lovers, and neighbors. Imagine fathers mourning their sons on both sides of the barricade, blaming each other equally for the same exact patriotism. Imagine a lie which also becomes your lie. And imagine what it is like to live as a woman in the middle of it all. War, loss, love, and a secret in a subtle game of colors. Franz.
Our society still perceives the age difference between lovers as a gossip material. As if the only proper way to do something was to fall in love with someone of the same age, status, race, and religion. Our world shrunk. One day you can be sunbathing in California, the other explore villages of Namibian tribes. The chances of falling in love with someone similar to you are getting smaller and smaller. But chances of being criticized by the society are getting bigger and bigger each day. Does the age difference matter? Is it acceptable when an older man is with a younger woman? And why does it still raise some eyebrows when an older woman is with a younger man?
