Steve Jobs

It's easier to talk about one's own perspective. When I was a teen I had a paper notebook in which I scribbled stories with my not so perfect handwriting. Then I got a vintage but hideous typewriter from the sixties and I enjoyed every sound that it made and the lengthy process of scrolling down the page. In junior high, I got my first PC. It was expensive stuff when you compared it to the average salary but I loved the keyboard and the fact you could print your work straight away. I had access to the Internet, I discovered YouTube. When I went to the university I bought my first cheap laptop. You shouldn't buy too cheap as you pay twice, so after a while, I had to buy another one, this time decent. It worked for years but it was heavy as hell and commuting with it from the dorms to the house for the weekend messed with my back. For scholarship money, I bought a netbook. When I started working I bought a tablet and another laptop. This time light and easily portable. Times change. Times fly. I rarely think about the story behind my writing machines. But, as behind every product are real people, there are individuals who did something great for the whole civilization. They were exceptional and they changed our lives in a way we now treat for granted. I was prejudiced, I must say. Now I grew to admire the man. Steve Jobs.
