Rocks in My Pockets

Mental diseases are still taboo for some. And while people openly talk about cancer, sexuality, the break-up of the relationship, problems with mental health are considered dangerous, alien and unknown. We tend to associate mental problems with serial killers, murderers, assassins, people who inflict pain on their closest relatives. That's a drop in the ocean. Depression, neurosis, fear, schizophrenia, phobias. Look around in your office or the place of work. A big part of your workmates might suffer from milder or stronger form of mental problems. Maybe it's you. Maybe you have suffered for years and every day is a struggle. Maybe you don't talk about it openly. Possibly you are afraid of being rejected by your family members and friends. It's like coming out with no guarantee of acceptance. We develop as a society and as a society, we need to learn more and try to help and understand those who need this understanding. One of the most visually ecstatic films I've seen with strong and smart narration. Rocks in My Pockets. The work of an artist. The story of a disease.

On the nature of pictures

*Every Google image belongs to someone and this someone should be noted. However, if pictures are scenes from the film they most probably belong to owners of the film/producers. I use saved screens of the Google compilation of pictures, thus the pictures of pictures, which I take, cut and edit myself (as a derivative use). They are used for reviewing purposes (fair use), not for diminishing the films' profits by stealing what rightly belongs to them. Copyright is tricky, let's get used to it.
