Irréversible

02:31:00

We are surrounded by nudity, pornography, and sex. We pay models for sexual poses to advertise clothes, perfumes, and shoes. We associate sex with attractiveness, we take demand for desire. We fall into the trap of appeal and availability.
How to distinguish the thin lines between relationship abuse and the abuse by a stranger? What can we call provocative and what should be condemned as immoral? Why so many men have problems with making the difference between consent and the lack of it? Why so many don't take 'no' for an answer? Why so many women suffer from someone's unfulfilled desires and misjudgment? Why are we each other's greatest enemies, when criticizing body image, and why so many men treat women as objects, whether at home, at work or in their social circle? Why so many women have to suffer the irreversible consequences of rape, abuse, and mistreatment? This is a film for viewers with strong nerves, but watching is just a mild form of experiencing what others suffered or suffer on the everyday basis. Irréversible

On the nature of pictures

*Every Google image belongs to someone and this someone should be noted. However, if pictures are scenes from the film they most probably belong to owners of the film/producers. I use saved screens of the Google compilation of pictures, thus the pictures of pictures, which I take, cut and edit myself (as a derivative use). They are used for reviewing purposes (fair use), not for diminishing the films' profits by stealing what rightly belongs to them. Copyright is tricky, let's get used to it.
